Blog Writing Tips - 1 - Have a Voice

By Christo Fox

1 - Have a Voice

When you are writing a blog it is important to try and imagine you are in a room of highly opinionated, loud and arrogant people. To be heard you must have a unique, distinct and dynamic voice; this is the key to success in the blogworld! Blogs are meant to personal expressions or opinions about a news topic, event or piece of information. People love to read blogs usually because they connect with the blog writer in some way or they have conflicting views about what the blog writer has written.

Anyone can find information on the Internet, it's just a matter of typing in a few keywords on Google and the information will usually present itself in a matter of minutes. However, finding someone's opinion on that piece of information is a lot harder. People who seek blogs are usually highly opinionated and are only looking for a blog to either agree or disagree with it. This is where having a voice is important.

The sole reason people write blogs is to generate activity. If they wanted nobody to read what they had written, they would write the blog offline. The only way to generate activity is to stand out from the millions of bloggers by having a unique voice that can be heard all through the Internet jungle. When writing a blog the best way to distinguish your voice is to either side positively or negatively with whatever you are writing about. The goal here is to make readers either agree or disagree with what you have written. If they do this then chances are they will leave a comment.

When a person comments on your blog, this can often lead to a chain reaction of comments that could potentially catapult your blog into the upper echelons of the blogworld. People will comment back and fourth until the issue is resolved, whatever that issue may be. In fact, it's very common to find a comment writer who has a louder voice then the actual blog writer. This person will usually write a controversial comment that is so powerful it essentially takes over the blog. All comments after this will typically be directed at the comment writer, instead of the blog writer.

Technorati is currently tracking almost 115 million blogs and there are reports of close to 73 million blogs in China alone. In comparison the Australian population only just breaks 20 million. When you are in a crowd of people like this in reality and you want to be heard, the average person typically screams loudly to attract as much attention as possible, but often this doesn't work and just seems to add to the "noise". To really be heard you must project a sense of authority and direction. Some natural born leaders can simply stand up on a chair, in a sea of people, and command their undivided attention, with nothing more then a hand gesture. The point here is that "screaming" in blogs is not the correct way to create a buzz and stir up some activity. Screaming strains your blog voice and will only keep people amused for a limited time. Anyone can write controversial rubbish, stick it up on the Internet and hope for the best, but the trick is doing it in a such a way that it makes you stand out and gives you an online voice that is so clear, it can be identified by the text itself. The good bloggers are so unique they no longer have to put their name on the blog, the writing speaks for itself. People can read a blog and automatically know it was written by their favourite blogger just by the way the blog is structured.

In conclusion...

- When using your blog voice try and side either positively or negatively with what you are writing about. Do not sit in the middle; nobody likes a fence sitter.

- When projecting your blog voice, remember you are actually talking to people. You are not having a conversation with yourself. If you do this correctly, chances are they will comment back and this activity will spark a chain reaction.

- When using your blog voice, do not scream. Nobody likes the loud person who shouts over people. The key here is to build up your voice so that it demands undivided attention. You should be able to get your point across constructively, without shouting. http://www.mobgizmo.com http://www.mobileactive.com http://www.youtube.com/chrisg276

Work From Home - How Blogs Can Help You

By Huey Lee

If you are exploring profitable ways to work from home, you may want to look into the opportunities offered by blogging. Originally a way for people to keep in touch with friends and family, update visitors on new developments or simply as a way to share their thoughts to the world, blogs have rapidly developed into a profitable way to work from home in recent years.

Here we present you with a few tips on how to turn your blogs into profitable moneymakers.

Make sure that your blog's subject is something that you are familiar with and perhaps more importantly something that you can be passionate about. It wouldn't make much sense to blog about something that does not interest you one bit. Not only is this a sure way to a boring way to work from home, your readers will likely pick up on your lack of interest.

Do your research. This is something that cannot be overestimated yet many bloggers seem to neglect this requirement. You have to make sure that you are providing a unique service to your readers so that you will be the first source that they turn to for the relevant information.

Make a list of effective keywords that relate to the topic at hand. Keywords are one of the main things that search engines look for, and having a list of relevant ones on your blog will ensure a high ranking that will translate into more traffic.

Create your blog. Aside from your main blog, you will also want to build one or more satellite blogs that are in a better position to attract higher paying keywords. That being said, it would be best to limit the pages for your satellite blogs to not more than five.

Focus on the main blog. Your main blog is the star of your entire web site, so it only makes sense to focus the bulk of your efforts on it. A good rule of thumb to follow is to devote 99% of posting efforts on the main blog and the rest on your satellite blogs.

There are many other things to consider when you use your blog to work from home of course, but this list is a good first step and will hopefully inspire you to explore further on your own.

Instant Explosive Blog Results

By Aj Gentry

Want to know how to vastly improve the quality of your blog and the results and responses you get from the people who visit and read it? Improve yourself.

Your blog and the efforts you put into the quality of your blog are a reflection of you and your ethics. There is literally an ocean of blogs and other informative internet sites available today. With so many choices your audience is greatly limited by the subject material and way that you present the material.

It's not just a matter of color or layout anymore, but rather a combination of thought and innovation that go into your blog that appeals to the public. The content must have something for them. Today people are in such a hurry and their free time is very limited so they are selective with the minutes they can devote to reading your words.

Improve the quality of your thoughts and you improve the quality of the thought you put into your blogs. Keep your blogs relevant to the lives of those who might read.

There are a lot of words published onto the internet each and every day. Most are hollow information that is passed along between blogs and news agencies for days on end. The most important words do several things.

Provide true knowledge.

Instill feelings in the reader.

Inspire ambition for success.

If every blog published reflected those points the society of mankind would begin to change and evolve noticeably in a matter of days.

People want to read your blog. They want well written informative content that makes them and their lifestyle or life better. Do your blogs offer any potential benefit to your readers? If not, perhaps you should revisit your reasons for having a blog and what you are trying to express with your words on the blog entries.

You need to write your blog. If you didn't you wouldn't be devoting the time and effort to the cause. That implies that you have something within you that needs to come out and be hear and acknowledged. Make those words something worth the time and effort of reading and worthy of being remembered for years to come.

Leave your mark on the internet and human society through the quality of your life as expressed through your blog efforts. Others realize and expect you to make some income if you desire to make your efforts financially rewarding, but they want the substance of your words to be that which enriches their lives too.

Are you solely a vapid person devoid of any purpose and meaning devoted to the cause of making money or are you someone of substance and purpose devoted to making your mark on the world through your efforts to improve the lives of others?

Your blog offers you such an amazing forum to the rest of the world. Will you use that power wisely or will you squander it in empty advertising jargon. There is something inside of you, some special skill or piece of knowledge that will make the world a better place if you can only identify it, harness your energy and thought and direct it into your blog entries.

Remember that your blog is an extension and reflection of who you are as a person.

Importance Of Commenting On Other's Website Or Blogs

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Rome_Mele]Rome Mele

If you're a keen blogger, then I know you feel the sudden gush of delight when you see the comments on your post. Appreciation can be faltering but to be honest its always pleasing. But a true remark or the feed, whether its in good or bad light, serves much of the unforeseen ramifications that can be used in a much better constructive way in your future works.
But, do you Post comments and how often? Sometimes we get carried away by the statistical fears inside our mind which inhibits us to place a comment. It did to me though!
Sometimes We think posting comments would aid in making that blog(one where you just commented) popular rather than mine. Well, so be it, till it serves you good.

Wanna know how and why?

Below are some of the key points you need to keep in your mind, when you think of commenting on someone else blog.

1.People complain about not having enough comments in their blog, but they forget to count how much they have returned or commented till date. We feel happy and encouraged whenever someone appreciates our work, but it is equally important to let the others feel the same as well.

2.When you comment, you leave behind a digital signature of your blog. And that would remain there as long as that blog is alive. Take care to post comments on good posts, since those are the one which will attract other people as well. They too might comment, and there you go... you've the chance of being sighted. People can try your blog if your comments are good. So Comments are as important as posts. It tells the quality of your work. So give good comments and in fact many of those.

3.Giving a comment is proportional to coming up with a new Idea. Well, your comment could propel you with new Ideas or for topics for new posts ahead in your blog.

4.Join popular networking sites and make friends. Comment on their blogs as well. Healthy chances of getting more inbound traffics.

5.Take part in discussion forums of such networking sites. Come up with good discussion topics, such as asking people to review your blog in exchange of theirs. Now it is important that your feedback for such review works should be a good one. This is important, since if you are good with your comments, people will take your blogs to be good as well.

6.Another important strategy to further channelize traffic is to Look for the some of the most active members in the those networking sites such as Blogcatalog, mybloglog etc. You can easily find that by looking at some of the discussions. Comment on their blogs, keep it more for the most active blogger. There are healthy chances that, the active blogger will certainly draw in more commenter for their blog, and what you get is a decent chances of getting noticed by those inbound traffic.

7.Being active member of such discussions can also serve you good. But, keep in mind that your contributions to such discussions are of some standards. People will trust by your comments. So keep it good and honest.

8.Pour in your comments on blogs with different perspectives. If you limit yourself with the same group of blogs(friends), you will probably saturate yourself with same kind of comments and block the avenues of getting comments from other directions as well. One should make a target of commenting at least in few of the new blogs everyday. You can get new ideas and fresh perspectives about what other bloggers have to say.

So having said all of these... well, its your time to comment.

Great Ideas for Articles

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Mark_R_Hamilton]Mark R Hamilton

Great Ideas For Blogs!

OK, so you want to start a blog about well.... what??? You have no idea about ideas, not to mention... what should you put in your blog? It can seem like a daunting task but it can be done. It is very very important to create interesting (remember, they don't have to be unique) ideas for your blogs that will really grab your readers attention and keep them coming back to your blog. If you think about the last blog or article you read, was it because the topic jumped out at you? Oh yes. It really got your interest and you wanted to know more. That is the key to blogging and inventive writing (in fact, most writing). Making your reader want to come back for more? Every great writer has this ability and well, even though you may think you are not a great writer, you too have the ability to think up creative and inventive ideas for your blogs. It is not as hard as it appears. It just takes some time and some great tips to get your creative juices flowing and the ideas from you head to the blog. Writing for blogs or blogging is a fun activity that doesn't have to be stressful. You can relax and think up creative ideas using some great techniques and your readers will come back every time for more.

There are so many ways to generate creative ideas for blogs. I'd personally recommend that you start blogging about something you are really passionate about. This will most certainly stop you becoming bored with your subject, and make you want to update your blog more often. Many of my previous blogs have got just a bit stale because I wasn't interested in the subject, and so I didn't update them with anything interesting. But still, if you can't think off the top of your head, read the next bit (if you've already got an idea - great! Get blogging!) So then, does your blog have a particular topic? If so researching online the latest news of that topic is a great way to generate creative ideas for your blog. For people with a more general blog there are massive possibilities to think up awesome ideas. A secret tip that many writers use to think up creative ideas is to flip through magazines and newspapers and clip out interesting topics that grab your eye's attention. Keep them in a folder and whenever you need a creative idea all you have to do is grab a cut out article from your handy folder (keep it safe...)!! You will already have a title idea for your blog and you can play around with the content - as much as you like. If the cut-out article was about the top five cameras of 2008, you can make it, say, the top four compact cameras of 2008 and then research the latest in that topic. Or just use the topic of cameras and blog about the reasons you hate cameras or why camera makers just won't listen! The ideas you can create is endless with this great trick for creative ideas. It does not matter how old the article is because you are not going to copy the article, it is just an idea to get you going. Brainstorming is another great way to gain creative ideas for blogs. Yes, yes, it sounds like the stuff you do in school, but hey! It works! Get a piece of paper and write down a subject. Draw a circle (or a cloud, or a sheep, or a pig, or an amphibious landing-landing craft.... stop me) around it and think of another idea that relates to it. Keep repeating the process until you have an entire page of creative ideas for blogs.

Well, are you inspired? Great! Get blogging!

Beginners Guide To Blogging

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Katie_Anderson]Katie Anderson

How Do I Start Blogging?

Blogs are one of the hottest things online today. So many people seem to be doing it and loving it. And, even better, making money from it. There is a good chance that you have thought of putting together a blog of your own. If so, you have no doubt asked yourself, "How do I start blogging?"

To those who have never done anything like starting a blog before, it can probably seem like a mysterious and complicated process. But starting a blog is actually much easier than you think. In fact, one of the common comments from new bloggers is, "I can't believe how easy it was."

Here are a few tips that will help you get your blog up and running.

Choose Your Topic or Niche

The first step is to choose your topic. Ask yourself what you want to write about?

The great thing about blogs is that you can write about things you care about and are interested in, and still make money from it. So think about your hobbies and interests. What are the things you like to do? What are the things you are interested in? What are the things you like learning more about? Many of the possibilities on your list would make great topics for your first blog.

Choose Your Platform

One of the most important questions a blogger has to ask themselves is whether they should use a third party blog host, or maintain their blog on their own web host.

If you are new to blogging, you will probably want to use a free, third-party host like Blogger to start out with. With that service, all you have to do is sign up and start posting.

You can also choose to maintain your blog on your own web host. In that case, you can use WordPress, which is free and easy to install. In fact, with most web hosts, you can install it in just a few clicks, and have your blog up and running in less than ten minutes.

Post Daily

When you first start your blog, try to post in it daily for at least a week.

There are two good reasons for this. First, it will give you a good head start, and help to fill up your currently empty site with good content. And, secondly, posting frequently will help you quickly get comfortable with the process of writing posts, and using the blogging software.

If you have been asking yourself, "How do I start blogging?" these are the three easy steps you should follow. As simple as that, you can have your blog up and running. And, once you get your first one off the ground, your second, and third, and fourth will be even easier.

Should You Define Your Blog Objective?

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Zack_Harris]Zack Harris

You've taken the time to finally build a blog, and now it is online. You get all excited about the whole thing.

Months go by. Maybe you get a few visitors now and again. Maybe you land on the search engines. Mostly though, it just sits there. Is the blog you paid for pulling its weight?

A blog is a tool and can be of significant help to promote you or your business. It can cut a lot of time you put into giving information to readers or customers. It can answer questions and perform tasks for you.

Most blogs fail to have a clear objective of what it is suppose to do.

Some blogs try to do way too much at once, or worse, they have no definable purpose. Many provide no clear objective. A blog can do more than look good and flashy and have your contact information.

Blogs can be informational, storing content and articles based on a topic. Blogs can run eCommerce solutions that help you with your sales process. It can also generate leads, asking customers to fill out forms with their information and interests. It can also be a hybrid blog, with mixed purposes, like offering a free ebook or free access to information in return for contact information (lead generation).

Defining the purpose of your blog gives a clear direction to your readers and customers. Where should your readers and customers arrive when they find your blog? Where do you want them to end up? Using a clear path and clear objectives, you can lead them through your blog. Maybe you prefer just getting to know your readers or customer a bit more, and being able to forward marketing materials, so a lead generation type of blog might be more suitable.

Assign a secondary objective. Maybe after visitors sign up for free access, or an ebook, they are encourage to ask more by contacting you. Use a clear call to action. "Email for more information." "ClĂck here to sign up." Tell visitors where to go.

So setting up a clear objective for your blog is an important factor you need to consider if you don't want your blog to just sit up there and looking flashy and pretty 6 months down the road.
